Self Builder Floor Plan Review Guide
A 60 page workbook built to sit next to your floor plans, not on a shelf. It's not a list of questions to read through once. You start by defining how you actually live: household size now and in five to ten years, whether guests stay overnight, whether anyone works from home, what actually matters most to you and your partner. Then you work through the plan section by section against that brief, scoring each one as you go. Will a ground-floor room still work as a bedroom if stairs become difficult for anyone in the house. Does any route force you through one room to reach another, the classic version being a bedroom you have to cross to reach a bathroom. Could the layout hold up if a parent moves in or stays for an extended visit. By the end you don't have a gut feeling about your plan, you have a score out of 160 and a clear read on whether it's ready or needs another look, while the fix is still a redrawn line and not a knocked-down wall.
